A New Chapter for Notre Dame Basketball
The Notre Dame men's basketball program is gearing up for the 2026‑27 campaign amid a wave of transfers and fresh additions that promise a markedly different lineup from the previous year.
The Atlantic Coast Conference has released its conference matchups, revealing a schedule that offers a relatively balanced slate of home games, including contests against California, Pittsburgh, SMU, Stanford, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and North Carolina, as well as home and away contests with Boston College and Wake Forest.
While the home portion looks manageable, the road trip will be demanding, with visits to Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State and Virginia awaiting the team, and the absence of a matchup against Louisville — a ranked opponent from last season — could provide an early boost.
Head coach Micah Shrewsberry, who finishes his third season with a 41‑56 record, is targeting a .500 finish as a tangible step forward, especially after a 4‑14 conference record the prior year, hoping that improved health and contributions from the entire roster will translate into more wins.
Success will hinge on staying healthy and extracting consistent production from every player, as the coaching staff emphasizes depth and collective effort to close the gap in the competitive ACC.
