A Fresh Coaching Presence
The second 2026 fall camp practice for the University of Notre Dame unfolded on August 7 at the Irish Athletics Center in South Bend, Indiana, marking a pivotal early test for the program’s preparations.
Head coach Marcus Freeman observed the session alongside defensive coordinator Chris Ash, who took time to mentor sophomore defensive back Jayden Sanders, while offensive coordinator Gino Guidugli oversaw drills that included junior quarterback CJ Carr and senior Adon Shuler.
Special teams coordinator Marty Biagi worked closely with freshman Devin Fitzgerald, who demonstrated agility during a tackle‑avoidance drill, and athletic director Pete Bevacqua toured the newly completed Shields Hall, the team’s state‑of‑the‑art facility that will serve as the program’s hub moving forward.
The practice also featured senior players such as Bryce Young and Elijah Hughes in warm‑ups, while emerging underclassmen participated in offensive line and defensive back drills, highlighting the depth of talent the Irish aim to harness as they gear up for the upcoming season.
