Nippon Professional Baseball revealed the fan‑voted All‑Star rosters for the 2026 midsummer classic, a list that already feels like a celebration of the league’s competitive balance and a preview of the stories that will dominate the summer.
The Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters topped the vote with six representatives, underscoring their dominance in the Pacific League and giving fans a clear favorite to watch as the All‑Star festivities approach.
A Milestone for Tokyo Dome and Toyama
Game 1 of the All‑Star Series will be held at the iconic Tokyo Dome on July 28, marking the venue’s first All‑Star showcase since 2019, before moving to Toyama Municipal Stadium on July 29, the first time a regional ballpark has hosted the event since Matsuyama in 2022.
Kyuji Fujikawa, manager of the Hanshin Tigers, will guide the Central League All‑Stars, while Hiroki Kokubo of the SoftBank Hawks will steer the Pacific League side, adding a layer of managerial intrigue to the upcoming showcase.
Beyond the initial selections, a second round of voting by players and coaches will determine one extra starter from each league, known as the Plus One Vote, which runs from July 14 to 20 and will be announced on July 22, giving fans a final say in the final roster.
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows earned four spots this year after being shut out in 2025, and the Hanshin Tigers celebrated four Central League leaders, including outfielder Shota Morishita, who topped the vote with 790,498 ballots.
Starting pitcher Haruto Takahashi, who posted a league‑leading 1.29 ERA, was omitted from the initial fan list but is expected to join the roster later, while the Pacific League’s six selections for the Fighters include starter Hiromi Itoh and designated hitter Franmil Reyes.
In the Pacific League, the defending champion Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks placed two players in the starting lineup — third baseman Ryoya Kurihara and outfielder Ukyo Shuto — adding a final layer of intrigue to the upcoming showcase.
