Oakland University has released its 2026‑27 women’s basketball non‑conference schedule, a compact 11‑game lineup that promises a rigorous early test for the Golden Grizzlies.
Opening the season
The campaign begins at home on November 2 against Cleary College, a game that will also serve as Math Hoops Day, and continues with a visit from Rochester Christian two days later.
The first road test arrives on November 5, when the team travels to Madison, Wisconsin, to meet the University of Wisconsin for the second consecutive season, underscoring the schedule’s ambition.
Back in Michigan, Oakland will host Rochester Christian on November 8 before heading to East Lansing to take on Michigan State on November 11, a venue that has become a familiar stop on their itinerary.
A short trip to Oxford follows on November 15 for a showdown with Miami (Ohio), after which the team returns home to face Eastern Michigan on November 18.
Mid‑season road trips
The schedule then shifts to a series of away games, including a November 23 contest at Northwestern and a November 29 visit to Eastern Illinois, before the calendar flips to December.
December brings Horizon League introductions, starting with a home game against Arizona on December 16, followed by matchups versus Kalamazoo on December 19 and a final non‑conference clash with Toledo on December 22.
Coach Keisha Newell, who has guided the program through recent improvements, says the slate is designed to sharpen the team’s depth and prepare it for the rigors of conference play.
With each early opponent, the Golden Grizzlies hope to translate these challenges into momentum as they look to sustain progress and contend strongly in the league ahead.
