A Season of Promise
The Ogden baseball program capped another memorable year by advancing to the district championship for the second consecutive season, a feat that underscored the team’s steady rise in a highly competitive conference.
Head coach Scott Church, who has guided the squad through a season of ups and downs, spoke candidly about the team’s development, noting how the players embraced challenges and grew stronger with each game.
Among the standouts, Colson Carson emerged as a workhorse on the mound, finishing the year with an 8‑2 record and a 2.29 ERA, while Keegan’s flawless fielding at shortstop earned praise for his reliability in the infield.
The senior ceremony, which stretched longer than usual, highlighted the contributions of Thomas Berkstrom, Beck Anderson and Hunter Mitchell, whose shift to catcher proved to be a turning point that stabilized the team’s defense.
Looking Ahead
Although the postseason ended with a loss to a formidable opponent, the experience offered valuable lessons and set the stage for a promising future, especially with a talented eighth‑grade class poised to step up.
Coach Church expressed optimism about the coming season, emphasizing that the blend of seasoned seniors and emerging underclassmen will keep the program competitive in one of the state’s toughest conferences.
The Ogden community rallied behind the team, with local businesses and parents contributing to a vibrant atmosphere that amplified the players’ motivation throughout the season.
