A Revamped Receiving Corps
Ohio State’s offensive scheme for the 2026 season is built around the dynamic playmaking of Jeremiah Smith, whose emergence as the team’s primary target has set the tone for the Buckeyes’ attack.
Adding to that equation is Devin McCuin, a transfer from UTSA who has already drawn praise for his blistering speed during summer workouts. In his final year at UTSA he recorded 65 receptions for 726 yards and eight touchdowns, numbers that suggest he could become a pivotal weapon in Columbus.
Complementing McCuin’s skill set is Kyle Parker, another newcomer who arrived via the transfer portal from LSU. Both players are slated to share snaps in a wide‑receiver rotation that also retains Brandon Inniss and welcomes freshman Chris Henry Jr., with Brock Boyd in the mix as a potential surprise element.
The group benefits from a fresh perspective in the coaching room, as Brian Hartline, formerly a key recruiter, now serves in a new capacity at South Florida, bringing a different set of insights that could shape the unit’s development.
With the attention that Smith will command, the coaching staff believes the blend of speed, experience and youthful talent will allow Ohio State to diversify its passing attack and keep defenses guessing.
