A Rare Academic Distinction
The APR, which evaluates scholarship athletes on eligibility, retention and graduation, is calculated using a multi‑year average that incorporates data from the 2021‑22 through 2024‑25 academic cycles.
Despite the upheaval of name, image and likeness opportunities and a wave of player transfers, the Buckeyes have kept their academic metrics at the highest level.
Faculty Perspective
Dr. John Davidson, Ohio State's Faculty Athletics Representative, said the university's commitment to classroom success remains unwavering, highlighting that 29 percent of its sports programs posted perfect multi‑year scores this cycle.
The athletic department as a whole posted an APR of 991, underscoring a campus‑wide culture where student‑athletes, coaches and academic support staff share a common goal of excellence both on the field and in the lecture hall.
