Among them is Gavin Strang, a 6‑foot‑5, 210‑pound signal‑caller from Brentwood, Tennessee, whose blend of height and arm strength has already attracted attention from Eastern Kentucky and Memphis.
Coach Ben Arbuckle, known for coaxing production out of unranked prospects, highlighted Strang’s 65 percent completion rate and 1,900 passing yards as a sophomore at Brentwood High School, noting that the physical profile resembles the archetype the Sooners have historically pursued.

The Sooners have also placed offers on Graham Simpson and Trey Tagliaferri, while Brady Quinn, a Miami‑area quarterback, has publicly expressed excitement about the interest and plans a campus visit.
Interest extends beyond the 2028 cohort; Oklahoma has yet to offer a scholarship to Norman North’s Nash Henry, though the coaching staff continues to monitor his development.
In addition, Logan Lucero received a commitment for the 2029 class, and true freshman Bowe Bentley, along with 2027 recruit Jamison Roberts, are slated to be the next quarterbacks in the pipeline.
