The Oklahoma State Cowgirls are preparing for one of the most challenging non‑conference schedules in recent memory, with up to 14 games spread across the country. Head coach Jacie Hoyt has crafted a lineup that tests the team early and often, blending road trips, neutral‑site contests and high‑profile rivalries.
A road‑heavy opening
The first major test arrives on December 6, when the Cowgirls travel to face South Carolina, the three‑time national champion coached by Dawn Staley. The Gamecocks have dominated the early 2020s, reaching the championship game in each of the past three seasons, making the matchup a marquee event for the Cowgirls.
Seven of the Cowgirls’ contests will be played away from Stillwater, with stops in Tulsa, South Dakota State and a neutral‑site showdown in Fort Myers, Florida. Those games will also showcase the new transfer class, highlighted by Audi Crooks and Liv McGill, who are expected to add depth and versatility.
Revenge and rivalry
On November 18 the Cowgirls will host St. John’s, seeking revenge for a loss incurred in New York City earlier in the season. The team hopes to flip the script on a game that previously slipped away in the final minutes.
The Bedlam Series will bring the Cowgirls to Oklahoma on December 12, renewing a historic rivalry that always draws a packed house and intense competition. The schedule also includes a final non‑conference game against North Texas on December 14, a rematch of a 73‑55 victory from the previous year.
Building around experience
Returning star Stailee Heard anchors the roster, providing a proven scoring threat and leadership on the court. With the addition of key transfers and a demanding schedule, Coach Hoyt believes the team can use these challenges to sharpen its identity and carry momentum into conference play.
