Both prospects represent the first players brought in by new offensive line coach Cody Crill, who joined the staff earlier this year. Their commitments signal a shift in the Cowboys’ recruiting strategy, emphasizing size and versatility along the interior of the line.
Sonny Mullen, a 6‑foot‑6, 280‑pound tackle from Troy, Texas, flipped his commitment from the University of Houston after receiving offers from Baylor, Texas Christian University and Kansas State. Mullen played on both the left and right sides during his junior season, showcasing his adaptability.
Chase Clark, a 6‑foot‑4, 290‑pound interior lineman from Chicago, Illinois, chose Oklahoma State over Purdue, Oregon State and James Madison University. Clark is rated as a three‑star prospect and is projected to anchor the middle of the line.
