Oklahoma’s 2027 Recruiting Class Gains Momentum

Four-star prospects and missed opportunities define the Sooners' outlook

The Class Takes Shape

Oklahoma has already locked in 26 commitments for the Class of 2027, a haul that includes four‑star athlete Bode Sparrow. The group has propelled the Sooners to a No. 4 position in 247Sports’ team recruiting rankings for the cycle, underscoring the program’s aggressive outreach.

Among the primary targets is defensive end Uhila Wolfgramm, a consensus four‑star prospect from Utah. In his junior season he recorded 36 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, numbers that have kept the Sooners at the forefront of his consideration.

Safety Jaiden Fields, a consensus three‑star recruit from Hutto, Texas, is also weighing Oklahoma alongside other programs. Fields logged 48 tackles, three pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and a pick‑six during the 2025 high school season, adding versatility to the Sooners’ defensive backfield plans.

The class, however, has seen a few high‑profile defections. Linebacker Case Alexander, a four‑star recruit and son of former OU tight end Stephen Alexander, elected to join Penn State. Alexander’s brother is already on the Nittany Lions roster, a factor that influenced his decision.

Offensive tackle Brian Swanson, another four‑star and top‑200 prospect, chose Texas after a visit to Norman. Swanson’s commitment marked a rare loss for Oklahoma in the trenches, highlighting the competitive nature of the 2027 recruiting landscape.
