A Fresh Batch of Talent Joins ODUs Soccer Program
Old Dominion University’s men’s soccer team has unveiled a 15‑player recruiting class that will bolster the roster for the 2026‑27 campaign. The announcement, made this week, highlights a blend of domestic prospects and international standouts.
Goalkeeper Diego Camargo, a native of Bogota, Colombia, arrives after two seasons at Bethel University where he refined his shot‑stopping skills. His addition signals the program’s intent to anchor the backline with experience earned in the United States collegiate scene.
Defensive reinforcements include Jacopo Caprile from Verona, Italy, who logged substantial minutes at Eastern Florida State College, and Ludovico Vicini, also Italian, a former starter at Northeast Community College who tallied 40 starts in 45 appearances. Both bring a European tactical perspective.
David Chapman, a Nottingham native, joins after capturing the BUCS National Championship with Nottingham University, adding a winning pedigree to the squad. He will be joined by compatriots Noah Dietze, who navigated the lower tiers of German football, and Huw Dawson, a London midfielder with 49 National League South appearances.
The class also features midfielders George Maire from West Kirby, England, and Matthew Moffatt, another Nottingham alumnus, alongside forwards Mile Zivkovic from New City, New York, and Fraser Page from Brentwood, England, who previously scored for AFC Greenwich Borough. Additional attackers include Jason Purks from Oakwood, Ohio, and Logan Bugni from Fredericksburg, Virginia, who develop their game with the Virginia Development Academy.
Defender Jaykob Marquez, hailing from Far Hills, New Jersey, brings a high school record of 85 points across four seasons, while Tziyon Morris from Rochester, Minnesota, arrives as a recognized high‑school All‑American. Midfielder Max Graf rounds out the group, having progressed through the Colorado Rapids youth academy.
Coach Tennant McVea emphasized that the mix of youth and experience reflects a strategic effort to blend fresh energy with proven collegiate and professional exposure. He noted the influence of developmental partners such as Cedar Stars Academy, World Class FC and Colorado Storm Soccer Club in scouting these prospects.
