Old Fourth Ward Prepares for World Cup‑Inspired Festival
The Old Fourth Ward Neighborhood Association is set to host the O4W Soccer Kickoff Festival from June 11 through June 13, a three‑day celebration that ties the neighborhood’s cultural vibe to the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
The festival’s program blends sport, music and local flavor, featuring a bar crawl on the opening night, a public viewing party for the United States versus Paraguay match on June 12, and a family‑friendly soccer clinic on the final day.
All events are free and open to the public, with organizers emphasizing that the gathering is designed to showcase the historic district, foster connections among residents and visitors, and leave a lasting community legacy beyond the tournament.
Bar Crawl, Viewing Party and Youth Soccer Event
The June 12 viewing party will be enhanced by live music performances and a lineup of local food vendors, turning the park into a bustling hub of activity as fans cheer on the U.S. team.
On June 13, a kids’ soccer event will launch the new O4W Youth Soccer Program, an initiative supported by Wellstar Health System and Inter Atlanta FC that aims to broaden access to youth athletics and nurture future talent.
The festival’s broader vision is to expand community engagement and create a sustainable model for future neighborhood events, leveraging the excitement around the World Cup to promote health, recreation and cultural pride.
