A Summer Classic at Hemlock Park
The Oldtimers took the field against the Mecosta County high school baseball all‑stars in the annual summer softball showdown held at Hemlock Park. The game drew a lively crowd of families and local fans eager to see longtime community members trade baseball gloves for a friendly contest.
The high school all‑stars, drawn from Big Rapids and Morley Stanwood, posted a 15‑9 victory, but the focus of the day extended beyond the scoreboard. Kevin Courtney, a respected local basketball official and umpire, suited up for the Oldtimers and later received the Golden Oldies Award in recognition of his years of service to the county’s sports programs.

Among the standout performances, Taylor Schuberg was named the Oldtimers’ Most Valuable Player, while the high school team’s MVP honors were shared by Quin Garrett and Jonathan Losinski, whose contributions helped secure the win.
