The Ole Miss Rebels have secured two new arms from the transfer portal, adding right‑hander Kendall Hoffman from Houston and reliever Andrew Rogovic from Northeastern. Both players announced their commitments on social media, marking the latest additions to the pitching staff.
Hoffman Brings Size and a Four‑Pitch Repertoire
Standing 6‑foot‑6, Hoffman arrives as an incoming junior who posted a 4.82 earned‑run average over 21 starts for the Cougars. His arsenal includes a four‑seamer, slider, curveball and changeup, and he recently struck out seven batters in four scoreless innings against Rice.
During his sophomore season he logged seven consecutive starts of at least six innings, threw 8 1/3 innings while allowing just two earned runs against Cincinnati, and was among the team’s most frequent starters as a freshman.
Rogovic’s Reliable Reliever Profile
Rogovic, also an incoming junior, spent two seasons at Northeastern where he went 4‑2 with a 4.31 ERA across 39 innings. He struck out 60 batters, held opponents to a .169 batting average, and closed out three saves, not allowing a run over his final 11 outings.
The Rebels intend to use him as a middle reliever or set‑up arm, giving the staff depth heading into the upcoming season.
Coaching Perspective
Head coach Mike Bianco praised the additions, noting that both pitchers bring experience and a proven track record that should fortify the rotation and bullpen.
With this new talent, Ole Miss hopes to climb higher in the SEC standings and contend for a regional berth, leveraging the depth gained from the transfer portal.
