Ole Miss basketball is set to reshape its lineup for the 2026‑27 season after securing the transfer of Corey Stephenson, a 6‑foot‑7 wing who spent his most recent year at Florida International University.
Stephenson arrives after a standout senior campaign in which he averaged 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists, shooting 45.7 % from the field and 39.8 % from three‑point range, earning All‑CUSA second‑team honors.
A Journey Marked by Mobility and Opportunity
The Memphis native has traversed several programs, beginning at CSU Bakersfield before a stint at Northeast Mississippi Community College, and most recently a brief NBA Summer League appearance with the Detroit Pistons, where he logged 9 minutes per game and 3 points.
Eligibility for the upcoming season was secured through a fifth‑year injunction granted in a California lawsuit that challenged the NCAA’s previous eligibility rules, allowing Stephenson to return to college basketball.
He joins a group of seven newcomers that includes three forwards, two guards and a center, as well as guard Ben Henshall, who comes from the Australian NBL, and rookie prospects Jaron Saulsberry, Yohance Connor and Daniel Patton.
Returning players from the previous roster — Ilias Kamardine, Patton Pinkins and Zach Day — will look to blend with the fresh talent as the Rebels aim to climb the SEC rankings.
