A Homecoming With Purpose
All‑American and All‑SEC running back Kewan Lacy, who stars for the Ole Miss Rebels, returned to East Texas this weekend to run a football camp at Legacy High School in Tyler. The event drew local youths eager to learn from a player known for his on‑field excellence and off‑field character.
Lacy used the platform to stress the responsibility that comes with his visibility, saying that his own development was shaped by mentors who invested time in his future. He framed the camp as an opportunity to give back to a community that has supported his journey.
Legacy’s freshman coach Shawn Warren joined Lacy on the field, helping to organize drills and mentor the participants. Warren’s involvement highlighted the collaborative effort between local coaches and a rising collegiate star.
Lacy’s younger brother, Gerald Lacy, a safety who recently transferred from Trinity Valley Community College and secured a spot on the Ole Miss roster, was also present. His attendance underscored the family’s deep ties to the sport and added a personal dimension to the camp.
