Ole Miss is turning up the volume on its Heisman Trophy hopefuls, Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy, by placing them at the center of a Las Vegas spectacle that taps the world’s largest LED screen, known as the Sphere.
The Sphere’s Massive Canvas
The Sphere, a 580,000‑square‑foot LED wall that dominates the Las Vegas skyline, will begin broadcasting the Rebels’ stars on August 30, turning the city’s entertainment district into a living billboard for college football.
Chambliss, a transfer quarterback from Division II Ferris State, earned the starting role after Austin Simmons went down with an injury, and he guided Ole Miss to its first two College Football Playoff victories, throwing for 3,937 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2025.
Lacy, who arrived from Missouri with just 104 career rushing yards, exploded for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns last season, shattering the school’s single‑season rushing records and cementing his status as a top Heisman contender.
Beyond the Screen: Fan Engagement
The promotion kicked off in July with a wave of free yard signs, bumper stickers and buttons handed out to supporters, while a Times Square billboard in New York City featured the two athletes on August 24, extending the reach of the campaign across the country.
Athletic director Keith Carter described the Sphere activation as a pivotal brand‑growth opportunity, noting that the exposure not only highlights the players but also elevates the university’s profile on a global stage.
Game Day and Heisman Odds
The Rebels open the season against Louisville on September 6 at 6:30 p.m. CT, a matchup that will be broadcast on ABC and streamed across the university’s digital platforms.
In the latest Heisman odds, Chambliss sits at +1400 with a No. 6 ranking after finishing eighth in last year’s vote, while Lacy carries +12,500 odds; Notre Dame’s CJ Carr leads the field at +750, followed by Texas’ Arch Manning at +800.
Carter emphasized that the campaign’s blend of traditional fan giveaways and high‑tech visibility is designed to translate on‑field success into lasting brand equity for Ole Miss.
