A Strategic Addition to the Coaching Roster
High Point University announced this week that Olivia Trice will join the women's basketball program as an assistant coach, bringing a blend of playing experience and operational insight to the staff.
Trice spent the 2025‑26 season at Wright State, where she served simultaneously as an assistant coach and director of operations, overseeing recruitment, compliance and day‑to‑day team logistics.
Her playing résumé includes three seasons at Bowling Green State and two years at Florida International University, where she appeared in 139 games, starting 43 of them, and earned Conference USA All‑Academic honors.
Family Roots in Basketball
Trice comes from a basketball‑centric family; her father, Travis Trice, is the associate head coach of the Wright State men's program, while her brothers, Travis and D'Mitrik, enjoyed standout collegiate careers and have professional playing experience.
The Trice family’s deep involvement in the sport has shaped Olivia’s understanding of both competition and mentorship, qualities she hopes to pass on to the High Point Panthers.
During her final collegiate season, she averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, highlighted by a 21‑point outburst against Jacksonville and a memorable performance versus UTEP.
Off the court, Trice holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Communication and Media Studies from FIU (2023) and a master’s degree in mass communications (2024), underscoring her commitment to personal development.
Expressing enthusiasm for the new role, Trice said she is eager to contribute to a program that has recently enjoyed sustained success and to help build on that foundation.
