Funding for the Fan Zone came in part from lodging tax revenues earmarked for tourism promotion, a financial source that underscores the economic rationale behind the event.
While the first night saw long lines and slower security screening, organizers quickly adjusted staffing and signage, turning early hiccups into a smoother experience that kept attendees engaged.
The crowd was a mosaic of ages, nationalities and backgrounds, creating a palpable sense of community that extended beyond the sport itself.
Beyond the social buzz, the event generated roughly 2,250 hotel room nights and more than $327,000 in direct hotel revenue, a boost that local businesses welcomed.
