A Fresh Start Under Coach Bailey
After three consecutive losing seasons, the Onaway Cardinals are determined to rewrite their recent history. Under the direction of Coach Micah Bailey, the program is emphasizing a return to basic principles and a stronger conditioning regimen.
The roster brings back several key contributors, including Kayson Jarvis, Zach Schmoldt and sophomore quarterback Chris Pauly, who are expected to play pivotal roles on offense.
Bailey also points to the development of the offensive line, where senior linemen Caleb Booms and Phineas Benson provide added stability and experience.
The team opens its season at home against Rogers City on August 27, a contest that will test the Cardinals against a program that previously posted a 56‑22 victory over the Hurons.
Competing in the Bridge Alliance Valley Division, the Cardinals face a challenging schedule, but the coaching staff believes that a disciplined approach will translate into wins throughout the year.
