Rising Stars Gather in Amherst
A total of 25 players from the Ontario Hockey League have been summoned to the 2026 USA Hockey Boys National 17 Festival, a week‑long showcase that will take place in Amherst, New York, from July 7 through July 13. The invitation highlights the league’s reach across its Atlantic, Central, Michigan, Mid‑American, New York, Northern Plains, Rocky Mountain and Southeastern divisions.
The festival is designed as an elite development camp for the best American‑born 2009‑year‑old prospects. Participants will engage in on‑ice drills, small‑area games and off‑ice workouts that cover strength and conditioning, nutrition, team‑building and mental‑skill sessions, all under the guidance of experienced coaches and scouts.
Standout performances will be evaluated for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp and, ultimately, a place on the 2026 U.S. Under‑18 Select Team. The event therefore serves as a critical stepping stone for these young athletes who are already being discussed as potential future stars of the sport.
