A Fresh Look for Opera on Android
Opera has rolled out a fresh version of its Android web browser that aims to make the home screen more informative and the experience more personal. The update introduces a redesigned start page that blends weather information with quick-access shortcuts, giving users a glanceable snapshot of the day before they dive into browsing.
Central to the release is a new soccer hub that aggregates live scores, match statistics and real‑time notifications. The hub, also available in Opera Mini, presents a scrolling carousel of ongoing games and lets fans tap a match to explore detailed data, while allowing them to follow favorite teams for instant alerts.
The refreshed start page now includes a weather widget that displays current conditions alongside the usual shortcuts. New icons provide one‑tap access to private browsing and Opera’s AI mode, while speed‑dial icons can be customized into square, round or the newly introduced “squircle” shapes, giving the interface a more tailored appearance.
AI‑driven news and deeper customization
Instead of a human‑curated feed, the soccer hub relies on an AI‑powered news engine that surfaces relevant updates based on user preferences. This approach not only streamlines the flow of information but also ensures that fans receive the most pertinent match highlights and scores without unnecessary clutter.
