A Dynamic Addition
Oregon’s men’s basketball program has secured a promising piece of talent with the addition of Jasper Johnson, a four‑star guard who transferred from Kentucky. His arrival signals the coaching staff’s intent to bolster a backcourt that can create offense and defend at a high level.
Johnson arrives after a season in which he averaged 4.9 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 rebounds while seeing limited minutes at Kentucky. Prior to that, he dominated at Overtime Elite, posting 20.3 points per game and earning a reputation as one of the nation’s top prospects.
From Kentucky to the Ducks
At Kentucky, Johnson posted a career‑high 22 points against NC Central and logged seven games with three or more assists. Those moments of production hint at the upside the Ducks hope to unlock as he transitions to a more prominent role.
International Experience
Beyond club play, Johnson contributed to United States squads that captured gold at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup and the FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Argentina. Those tournaments highlighted his ability to perform on big stages and against international competition.
A Fresh Batch of Talent
Johnson joins a group of newcomers that includes Tyrone Riley IV, Andrew Meadow, Jerry Easter II, Taylor Bol Bowen and Seven Spurlock. Together, they form a recruiting class that could reshape the Ducks’ roster and inject fresh energy into practice.
