The Oregon Ducks baseball program has been on an upward trajectory since Mark Wasikowski took the helm in 2020, turning a once‑struggling club into a consistent contender and a magnet for top talent.
A Recruiting Boost
Ryan Fineman arrives in Eugene after two seasons at Troy, where he helped the Trojans punch above their weight and reach the College World Series while working closely with catchers and building a deep network of amateur talent in the southern states.
His résumé also includes a year as director of player personnel for Alabama in 2023, a stint in the Gulf Coast League with the Tampa Bay Rays, and a collegiate playing career at Indiana that culminated in three NCAA Tournament appearances and a Big Ten regular‑season title in 2019.
Fineman’s appointment comes as the Ducks seek to counteract the pull of programs with larger NIL budgets, a challenge that cost them several top recruits this offseason. With a proven eye for talent and a strong Southern connections, he is expected to help Oregon retain and attract the kind of players who have already produced a program‑record seven selections in the 2026 MLB Draft.
