ESPN’s latest preseason poll has positioned the Oregon Ducks at No. 2 nationally, trailing only Ohio State, as the 2026 campaign prepares to launch. The ranking reflects a belief that the Ducks possess the depth and talent to contend for the 2027 college football championship.

Defensive standouts A'Mauri Washington, Matayo Uiagalelei, Teitum Tuioti and Bear Alexander are all back in the fold, giving the unit continuity and experience that coaches expect to translate into pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Quarterback Dante Moore, a prospect projected as a top NFL draft pick, has elected to remain with the program for another season, providing a potent passing attack that complements the defensive front. The coaching staff has bolstered the offense by promoting Drew Mehringer to offensive coordinator while retaining Chris Hampton as defensive coordinator, ensuring continuity on both sides of the ball.
