Oregon’s baseball program is poised for a breakthrough as three of its recent stars have been selected for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, a final audition that could place them on the 28‑player roster destined for the World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan.
A historic drought ends
The invitations mark the first time since 2018 that Oregon has seen multiple players chosen for the national team, underscoring the program’s resurgence and the excitement surrounding its young talent.
Mound mastery and bullpen reliability
Will Sanford anchored the Ducks’ rotation throughout the 2026 season, posting a 3.74 ERA over 17 starts and striking out 126 batters — the second‑most in program history. His dominance has placed him among the nation’s most promising collegiate pitchers.
Tanner Bradley proved equally indispensable out of the bullpen, compiling 84 strikeouts and a 1.66 ERA across 31 appearances. His consistency earned him multiple All‑American honors and a first‑team All‑Big Ten selection.
From catcher to first‑base catalyst
Brayden Jaksa began the year as the team’s backup catcher but quickly became a linchpin in the lineup. His bat produced a .318/.400/.534 slash line with a .934 OPS and 10 home runs, prompting coach Mark Wasikowski to insert him at first base and build the offense around his production.
Back to the world stage
If selected, the trio will join teammates from across the United States in Taiwan, where the championship will test their skills against the world’s best collegiate competition. The exposure promises to elevate Oregon’s profile and inspire the next generation of Ducks.
