Oregon State University announced this week that Oscar Zepeda will assume the role of Director of Soccer Operations for the Beavers men’s soccer program, a position he will hold ahead of the 2026 campaign.
Zepeda, who previously earned caps with Mexican top‑flight clubs Santos Laguna FC and Atlas FC, brings a blend of playing experience and business acumen to Corvallis. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College and a master’s in economics from Boston College, and he joined the university’s marketing department in 2024 before moving into this newly created operational role.
A Strategic Appointment
His appointment coincides with a pivotal moment for the Beavers, who are navigating the inaugural season of the restructured Pac‑12 conference and adapting to a revised NCAA scheduling model. Head Coach Jarred Brookins, now in his second year, will work alongside Zepeda to shape a roster that has already produced talents such as Gloire Amanda, Sofiane Djeffal, Logan Farrington and Arnau Farnos.
Beyond on‑field strategy, Zepeda will spearhead community outreach and fan engagement initiatives, aiming to broaden the program’s visibility and attract new recruits. His dual focus on infrastructure and talent development reflects the university’s ambition to rebuild the program’s competitive edge while strengthening its connection with supporters.
The move underscores Oregon State’s commitment to blending athletic expertise with strategic marketing, a combination that officials say could position the Beavers as a more prominent force on the West Coast. As the 2026 season approaches, the campus community anticipates a fresh wave of energy surrounding the team’s prospects.
