Coached by Mitch Canham, the Beavers bring a storied program that has captured multiple College World Series championships and has earned a postseason berth in all but two seasons since 2005.

However, second baseman Cooper Vance is nursing a hamstring injury that could keep him out of the regional, and freshman Nyan Hayes has been working at the position in case Vance is unavailable.
The Beavers open the competition against Washington State at noon on Friday, a game that could set up a potential showdown with the Ducks should both clubs win their respective first‑round matchups.
