Oregon State’s baseball program is set to make its debut in Las Vegas as part of the 2027 Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic, a tournament that will take place during the third weekend of the season.
A Return to Las Vegas
The event, hosted at Las Vegas Ballpark, is organized by Peak Events, LLC and marks the Beavers’ first appearance in the city, following earlier contests in Surprise, Arizona, and Arlington, Texas. The full schedule for the tournament will be released at a later date.
Series Histories
The Beavers and Sun Devils have met 103 times, with Arizona State holding a 56‑47 series edge, but Oregon State has won the last four meetings all in 2024, giving them a recent advantage. Against Iowa, the two schools have split the past two seasons in neutral‑site matchups, highlighted by a 4‑3 win for Oregon State in Frisco, Texas, in 2026. The series with LSU stretches back to 2012, during which the Beavers have compiled a 6‑3 record in nine meetings. Oregon State also enjoys a strong historical edge over BYU, holding an 18‑7 overall record and winning 11 of the last 12 encounters, the most recent being a three‑game series at Goss Stadium in 2021.
The Las Vegas Classic not only provides a showcase for the Beavers to test themselves against top national competition, but also underscores the growing partnership between Oregon State athletics and Peak Events, LLC, a company that has become a key organizer of collegiate baseball events across the country.
