The Committee’s Selection Process
The Division I baseball committee chooses the top 16 programs to conduct regional tournaments, and those selections are announced in late May. Oregon State’s independent status this spring meant it did not have a conference tournament to bolster its résumé, a factor that weighed against its at‑large bid.

When the regional bracket is released, Oregon State will travel to Eugene, where it is projected to be the second seed behind the host Oregon Ducks. The move continues a pattern of road trips for the program, which has spent the last three postseasons playing away from its home field in Corvallis.
The 2025 regional hosted by Oregon State in Lexington was a rare home‑field advantage, and the Beavers’ last championship came in that same Kentucky city two years earlier, underscoring the program’s historic success when given the opportunity to host.
