Oswego High School’s girls’ soccer team captured its first-ever regional championship on Tuesday, edging Neuqua Valley High School by a 2-1 margin in a tightly contested final.
Jordyn Washington opened the scoring early, and Brooke Loudermilk pulled one back late, but it was Kyla Baier’s steady presence in goal that turned several close chances into saves.
Road to the Sectional
The Panthers entered the championship as the second seed and had earned a first‑round bye, a reward for a season that included a 5‑0 victory over Metea Valley in the regional semifinals, where Gabrielle Ray’s heroics kept Neuqua Valley in contention.
Up next, Oswego will face Benet Academy in the sectional semifinals, a clash that has the community buzzing after a tournament sponsored by BMO.
