A Hip‑Hop Legacy Meets Youth Soccer
To mark the 30th anniversary of OutKast’s seminal album ATLiens, the duo has teamed up with cultural publisher MUNDIAL and the nonprofit Soccer in the Streets to produce a limited run of jerseys that will be distributed to youth soccer teams in East Point, Atlanta. The collaboration blends the album’s iconic 1990s aesthetic with a mission to fund local sports programs.
Big Boi and André 3000 were on hand for a special scrimmage where they presented the jerseys to the young athletes, signed autographs and shared stories of their own early days meeting at Tri‑Cities High School. The event underscored the personal connection the artists have to the neighborhood that helped shape their sound.
The apparel features design cues drawn directly from the ATLiens visual language: a pronounced collar, the ‘A’ taping motif, and a glow‑in‑the‑dark sponsor logo that pays homage to the era’s bold graphics. Each piece also carries the Soccer in the Streets insignia, linking the fashion statement to the organization’s broader youth development goals.
Kaseem Ladipo, executive director of Soccer in the Streets, said the partnership reflects the enduring influence of ATLiens while providing tangible resources for Atlanta’s next generation of athletes. ‘This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to use sport as a vehicle for empowerment,’ Ladipo noted.
A portion of worldwide jersey sales will be funneled back to Soccer in the Streets, which has operated a StationSoccer field at the East Point MARTA station since 2019. The teams will wear the jerseys throughout the season, turning each match into a celebration of both musical legacy and community investment.
