A timely reinforcement for the Mariners
The Maine Mariners announced this week that they have re‑signed defenseman Owen Gallatin, securing the 2025‑26 season for the blue‑liner who emerged as a pivotal piece of the club’s recent surge.
Gallatin arrived in early November after a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets, and in 46 games during the 2024‑25 campaign he posted two goals and 15 assists, underscoring his offensive contribution from the back end.
His second goal in overtime, scored against the Adirondack team, proved decisive in extending the Mariners’ winning streak to ten games, a momentum shift that defined their season.
The defenseman also featured in all 14 playoff contests, tallying seven points — two goals and five assists — as the club advanced deep into the Kelly Cup run.
Before turning professional, Gallatin honed his skills at the University of Minnesota‑Duluth, where he completed his collegiate career in 2025, laying a foundation for his transition to the ECHL.
