Fall and Winter Youth Ice Hockey Program Launches in Oyster Bay
The Town of Oyster Bay is set to begin its Fall and Winter Youth Ice Hockey Program, offering boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16 a chance to develop their skills on the ice while building community ties.
The schedule includes a 10‑week training camp, a full house league with regular games and culminating playoffs, and specialized clinics that cater to different skill levels, including sessions for 6U players, girls only groups and adult learners.
Registration Opens Soon
Registration for residents opens on August 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., while non‑residents can sign up two days later on August 28, 2026, at the same time. Prospective participants must submit a birth certificate, proof of residency and the required registration fee through the town’s online portal.
Each player is required to bring their own equipment and demonstrate basic skating ability, as the curriculum focuses on refining skating, stickhandling and shooting techniques under the guidance of certified instructors.
Program Leadership and Vision
Town Councilman Lou Imbroto emphasized that the initiative is designed to teach fundamentals of the game while fostering friendships among young athletes, creating an environment where skill development and community building go hand in hand.
Programs are slated to start on September 27, 2026, and interested families can find detailed information and complete the registration process on the town’s sports page at www.oysterbaytown.com/sports.
