Fall and Winter Youth Ice Hockey Program Launches in Oyster Bay
The Town of Oyster Bay announced this week the start of its Fall and Winter Youth Ice Hockey Program, targeting boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16. The initiative aims to blend skill development with community building across the region.
Program participants will engage in a structured 10‑week training camp, compete in a full house league, and take part in playoff tournaments. In addition, specialized clinics are offered for all‑girls teams, younger 6U skaters, and adult learners seeking to refine their game.
The first on‑ice sessions are scheduled to begin on September 27, 2026. Registration for residents opens on August 26, while non‑residents can sign up starting August 28, provided they submit proof of residency and the required fee.
All applicants must present a birth certificate, evidence of residency, and pay the registration cost. Players are required to bring their own protective gear and demonstrate basic skating proficiency before joining the ice.
Program officials emphasize teaching proper skating techniques, stickhandling, and shooting while fostering friendships that can last a lifetime. The curriculum is designed to accommodate beginners and more experienced skaters alike.
Families can complete registration online at www.oysterbaytown.com/sports or by calling (516) 433‑7465, extension 8234. Early sign‑up is encouraged to secure a spot in the limited‑capacity sessions.
