Knox College announced this week that Pablo Arriaga will serve as the new head coach of the Prairie Fire men’s soccer program, taking over from Tyler Sheikh who returned to Connecticut after a brief stint in Illinois.
Arriaga arrives with a solid track record in the Midwest, having spent several years as an assistant at Wheaton College before moving on to leadership roles at Elmhurst and Greenville, where he honed his approach to recruiting and team culture.
Before his coaching career, Arriaga played four seasons of collegiate soccer at Vanguard University, earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and gaining firsthand insight into the demands of the student‑athlete experience.
Justin Newell, vice president and director of athletics at Knox, praised Arriaga’s ability to connect with recruits and develop players both on and off the field, noting that the new coach shares the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and competitive spirit.
