Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden returned to Wisconsin this weekend to run a youth football camp at the University School of Milwaukee, bringing his offseason energy from Houston back to the state where his professional journey began.
Golden stressed the value of giving back to the community and teaching the fundamentals of the game, spending time snapping photos with campers and leading them through drills that focused on route running, catching and footwork.
Mentorship on the Field
The session was part of a whirlwind weekend of camps across the state, and Golden said the experience reminded him of the mentors who helped shape his own path. He noted that former Packers receivers Randall Cobb and James Jones have already praised his potential, with Jones predicting a superstar trajectory.
Looking ahead, Golden is slated to assume a larger role in the Packers’ offense and sees the upcoming season as an opportunity to lead by example, both on the field and in the locker room.
The Packers will open training camp on Wednesday, July 29, a date that marks the next step in Golden’s preparation for the challenges ahead.
