The Licking Valley High School baseball team, the Panthers, secured a district championship on Tuesday night, shutting out Buckeye Valley 3-0 in a game that blended pitching precision with flawless defense.
Senior right-hander Grayson Snow delivered a three‑hitter, striking out four batters while walking only two, a performance that left the opposition swinging at air for most of the night.
The Arm of Snow
The Panthers struck first when Adam West’s sacrifice fly brought home the opening run, and they extended the lead in the fourth inning when Evan Lohr executed a squeeze bunt that made it 2-0.
Defensively, players such as Evan Lohr and Brandt Lichtenauer turned potential rallies into outs, preserving the shutout and energizing the dugout.
Coach Adam Arcuri praised Snow’s dedication, noting that the senior’s work ethic over the past four years had set the tone for the entire squad.
Evan Lohr, who has lost 25 pounds and is preparing to report to the Army National Guard, said the victory felt like a perfect send‑off before his next chapter.
A Matchup to Watch
The Panthers now turn their attention to Bishop Fenwick, a team that will test the newly forged confidence of a lineup that has already proven it can dominate on both sides of the ball.
