Park River Area Claims Fourth North Dakota Class B Baseball Championship

Rain‑delayed victory over Kindred highlights standout pitching and a shift to Class A competition

Park River Area captured its fourth North Dakota Class B baseball championship on Saturday, defeating Kindred 9‑2 in a game that was paused for nearly 45 minutes by a sudden downpour.

Rain‑Soaked Finale

The delay did little to dampen the energy of the Aggies, who surged ahead early and never looked back, building a 3‑0 lead in the first inning before extending it with two more runs in the second.

Jacob Solseng, a Mayville State commit, turned in a masterful outing, fanning 11 batters while surrendering just one run and showcasing the poise of a future ace.

Coach Brett Omdahl praised the squad’s resilience, noting that the team’s perseverance was evident from the first inning onward and that the players’ potential stretches far beyond this title.

Kindred entered the contest with a stellar 22‑3 record, but a combination of defensive miscues and a deep sacrifice fly by Solseng in the second inning allowed the Aggies to pull away.

Pitcher Brock Johnson of Kindred finished with eight strikeouts, yet the errors proved costly as the Aggies added two more runs in the second frame.

The victory marks a turning point for Park River Area, which will now transition to the more competitive Class A level in American Legion baseball, a move that promises new challenges and opportunities.

Fans and players alike celebrated the milestone, with teammates Jaxon Omdahl, Tucker Omdahl, Benjamin Schatz, Fisher Johnson, Graham Hesse and Eli Maack joining in the excitement.
