A Strategic Addition to Ottawa's Women's Basketball Program
Ottawa University has named Parker Ehrke as its new assistant coach for the women's basketball team, a move that brings a wealth of experience from recent successful stints at several Mid‑American institutions.
Ehrke spent three seasons at Northwest Missouri State University, where he helped the Bearcats compile a 56‑win season and secure a berth in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. His contributions included shaping player development strategies, leading scouting initiatives, and influencing recruiting efforts that elevated the program's national profile.
Prior to his time in Maryville, Ehrke served as a student assistant at the University of Nebraska at Kearney for three years, during which the Lopers posted 75 victories and advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16. Earlier in his career he began as a student assistant at McCook Community College, gaining foundational experience in collegiate coaching.
Beyond his on‑court roles, Ehrke is recognized for his proficiency with Synergy Sports software and his analytical approach to scouting and player evaluation. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Health and Sport Science from Northwest Missouri State, a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a coaching minor from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and an Associate of Arts in Physical Education from McCook Community College.
Hunter Bondurant, the head coach of Ottawa's women's basketball program, expressed enthusiasm about Ehrke's hiring, noting that his blend of technical expertise and recruiting acumen aligns perfectly with the team's growth objectives. Bondurant believes Ehrke will play a pivotal role in advancing the program's competitiveness within the conference.
