A Milestone for UNH Hockey
Parker Von Richter, a forward who spent the last four seasons at the University of New Hampshire, heard his name called in the fourth round of the 2026 NHL Draft as the 111th overall selection by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
During his tenure with the Wildcats, he amassed 119 points over four seasons, including a breakout year in 2025‑26 when he contributed 24 points for the Barrie Colts in the OHL and added 14 points in the playoffs as the team advanced to the championship series.
His offensive output reflects a consistent upward trajectory, having posted 30 points with the Brampton Steelheads in 2024‑25 and 40 points across two seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads before that.
The draft marks the latest chapter in a program that has produced 102 NHL selections, underscoring UNH’s reputation as a fertile ground for professional talent.
Born in Mississauga, Ontario, Von Richter now joins a Penguins organization that has a history of developing skilled forwards, and he will look to translate his Canadian‑style grit into the NHL.
