A New Era for Kentucky's Personnel Department
Pat Biondo’s departure from the Kentucky Wildcats’ front office was announced just days before the team was set to open fall camp, citing personal reasons for his exit.
Pete Nochta, who has served as assistant general manager, will succeed Biondo, taking charge of the Wildcats’ personnel operations, including player evaluation and recruiting strategy.
Nochta’s ascent follows a stint as director of recruiting at the University of Louisville, where he helped shape a talent pipeline that caught the attention of Kentucky’s coaching staff.
The move also brings a family narrative into the spotlight, as Nochta’s father, John, once wore a Kentucky jersey as a letterwinner and later coached at the school, while his wife, Alyssa, previously cheered for the University of Louisville.
University officials say the new leadership will build on the foundation laid by recent recruiting classes, aiming to sustain the Wildcats’ upward trajectory as they prepare for the upcoming season.
