A Hall of Fame Milestone
The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame will welcome its 2026 class on August 22 at the historic Lexington Opera House, marking another chapter in the state’s rich basketball tradition.
Among the inductees is Pat Doyle of Calvert City, whose 1959 North Marshall Jets posted a 35‑1 record and captured the state championship. That season he was also named Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball and went on to play four years at the University of Kentucky under legendary coach Adolph Rupp.
Doyle’s inclusion reflects the Hall’s ongoing mission to preserve and celebrate the culture of Kentucky high school basketball, a cause championed by the Hall of Fame and its partners, including the University of Kentucky.
The 2026 class brings the total number of enshrined figures to 203 since the Hall’s inception in 2012, underscoring the lasting impact of the sport across generations.
The ceremony will feature a lineup of former players and coaches, offering fans a chance to reconnect with the legends who shaped the game in the Commonwealth.
