A Career of Milestones
Over 19 seasons he recorded 427 goals and 613 assists for a total of 1,040 points in 1,294 NHL games, while ranking third all‑time with 15,182 faceoff victories.
His defensive brilliance earned him six Selke Trophies, the most ever for a player, and a streak of 12 consecutive nominations that highlighted his reputation as the league’s premier two‑way forward.
Bergeron also contributed to Canada’s international success, capturing two Olympic gold medals, a World Championship title, and representing his country at the 2017 World Cup of Hockey, completing the Triple Gold Club.
Retirement and the Road Ahead
After concluding his playing career in 2023, Bergeron moved into a front‑office role with the Bruins, continuing to shape the organization’s culture and community outreach. His leadership extends beyond the ice, influencing young players and fans alike.
The Bruins will retire his No. 37 jersey during the 2026‑27 season, joining a select group of players honored by the franchise and cementing his legacy alongside legends such as Cam Neely and Bobby Orr.
