Patriots split doubleheader with Bolts
The Palouse Patriots faced off against the South Hill Bolts in a two‑game American Legion baseball series, emerging with a split after a 10‑4 victory in the opener and a 7‑5 setback in the nightcap.
Game 1 saw Carson Thomas deliver a standout performance, finishing 6‑for‑7 with two doubles and five RBI, while Toby Stewart added a double and three runs driven in. Markus Hauck contributed a 3‑for‑4 effort, scoring twice and knocking in a run, and Brody Pfaff closed out the seventh inning with two strikeouts.
Bolts bounce back
The second game flipped the script as the Bolts rallied to edge the Patriots 7‑5. Cooper Wells contributed two hits and an RBI, and the Patriots’ offense struggled to find gaps against a tightening pitching staff.
Despite the loss, the Patriots’ early‑season slate shows promising depth, with several players posting multi‑hit outings and the team posting a solid 10‑4 win that highlighted their offensive firepower.
The series was played under the auspices of the American Legion, a long‑standing youth baseball organization that continues to nurture talent across the Pacific Northwest.
