The Pearl City Senior Little League celebrated a milestone this summer, capturing the 2026 Western Regional Senior Little League Baseball Championship and securing a spot in the sport’s premier showcase.
Their next challenge arrives on August 2, when the team will step onto the diamond in Easley, South Carolina, for the opening round of the 2026 Senior Little League World Series.
Building Resilience
Head Coach Ty Takahashi spoke candidly about the squad’s character, noting that an early defeat proved to be a turning point that forged greater trust among the players.
‘That loss forced us to lean on each other,’ Takahashi said, emphasizing how the setback sharpened the group’s resolve and unity.
He also took the opportunity to acknowledge the coaching staff, whose dedication he described as ‘the backbone of this achievement.’
Roots in the Community
The roster reflects years of collective effort, with many of the boys having been mentored by the program since they were five, illustrating the long‑term investment in community baseball.
Families and neighbors have been instrumental, organizing fundraisers and providing everyday assistance that kept the team moving forward.
‘This victory is more than a trophy; it’s a testament to what a close‑knit community can accomplish together,’ Takahashi added.
