Penn State’s men’s basketball program is entering a pivotal offseason, with only three scholarship players set to return from last year’s roster.
A Revamped Roster
Coach Mike Rhoades emphasized that the team will be larger, more athletic and skilled, even though depth remains limited.
The lone returning starter, center Ivan Jurić, showed flashes of potential during his freshman campaign and will anchor the frontcourt.
Adding to the mix are transfers Brant Byers and Roberts Blums, both praised for their three‑point shooting, and a trio of international newcomers — Roko Prkačin, François Wibaut and Aleksandar Zecevic — who bring European experience to the backcourt.
The coaching staff will also look different, as Jamal Brunt and Joe Crispin have departed and Dwayne Stephens has been hired as an assistant coach.
Rhoades indicated that the roster is not final; two scholarship spots remain open and the staff will continue to explore the transfer market.
In a recent move, Rhoades promoted Brent Scott to associate head coach, calling the promotion an ‘easy decision’ and a ‘no‑brainer’.
