Battle 4 Atlantis Returns to the Bahamas
The Battle 4 Atlantis tournament will return to the Bahamas this November, bringing together eight elite college basketball programs for a three‑day showcase on Paradise Island. The event, scheduled for Thanksgiving week from November 25‑27, will feature group play followed by knockout rounds, offering teams an early‑season test before conference play begins.
Penn State will be one of the eight teams, joining Marquette, Memphis, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Virginia, Wake Forest and Xavier in a field that promises early‑season drama. The Nittany Lions have been placed in a group with Memphis, Mississippi State and Wake Forest, a bracket that will be revealed in full later this summer.
A New Era for Penn State Basketball
Coach Mike Rhoades, now in his fourth year at the helm, will guide a roster that has been reshaped by the transfer portal. Star point guard Kayden Mingo has transferred out, and Rhoades has emphasized bringing in experienced talent from across the country to fill the void left by departing players.
Rhoades has spoken about the importance of chemistry and depth, noting that the new additions bring a mix of size, shooting and defensive versatility. The coaching staff believes the blend of veteran presence and fresh energy will allow the team to compete immediately in the tournament and beyond.
The tournament will provide an early gauge of how the revamped squad adapts to new systems and opponents. Fans will get their first look at the team’s chemistry during the group stage, with matchups and tipoff times to be announced later this summer.
