After shoulder surgery, he gained four pounds of lean tissue and shed four pounds of fat, a change that coaches say has already translated into more durable footwork and a tighter throwing motion.
To refine his mechanics without stressing the repaired shoulder, Becht spent part of his preparation in Florida working with quarterback coach Will Hewlett, focusing on accuracy and velocity drills that emphasize a clean release.
Weaponry at the Skill Positions
